Each area's tasks get a box on their day only, so you only look at one column. The daily basics get no boxes at all.

How to use it

Put it where you'll see it
The fridge or the back of a cupboard door. Print a fresh one each week, or slip it in a sheet protector.
Write in who does what
Tasks marked KIDS are ones most children can help with.
Look at it together on Sunday
Five minutes to see what got skipped and who has what next week. That's the last task on the sheet.

Good enough on purpose

Most cleaning schedules assume someone is home all day with time to spare. Pin one of those up and by Thursday it's a list of everything you didn't do. This one assumes the opposite: the least that keeps a family house working, with one small job on each weekday and Saturday left free.

If a day gets missed, leave it. Nothing on it can't wait a week, and next week starts fresh. The daily basics have no boxes on purpose, so there's nothing to fall behind on. If you want more, the blank version has room.

Where paper runs out

A schedule on the fridge works well for the weekly rhythm. Here's what it can't do:

It only knows about this week. The furnace filter and the dentist don't fit on it.
It can't move things round. When someone's away, the plan stays as printed.
It stays on the fridge. You can't see it from work or the school run.

Is it really free?

Yes. Both PDFs download straight away, with no email and no sign-up. Print as many as you like.

Why a little each day instead of one big cleaning day?

Fifteen minutes on one job fits around work and school. A whole cleaning day is the first thing to go when the week gets busy, and it takes the weekend with it. This way Saturday stays free.

Why not dust and vacuum every room every week?

Doing the whole house every week is a big job. Each week, do the rooms your family uses most, whichever those are in your home, and one more room in turn, bedrooms included. Every room gets reached every few weeks. If someone has allergies, do their bedroom every week too.

What if we don't get through it?

Leave it. There's no catching up: each area comes round again next week, and nothing on the schedule can't wait that long. It's the least that keeps a family house working, not a target.

What can kids help with?

The tasks marked KIDS are ones most children can help with, like the pickup, changing sheets and towels, and dusting. Put their name in the Who column. There are no points or stars: it's their part of the house, not a game.

Can I change the schedule?

Yes. Print the blank version and write in your own areas and tasks, including Saturday if you want it. It has the same grid, so each day still gets its own column.

Does it print on A4?

It's laid out for US Letter. Choose "Fit to page" in your print settings and it prints on A4 with slightly wider margins.
